Work Related Learning - Co-operative and Social Enterprise (CASE)

CASE is part of a whole school approach to employability.

CASE is now an established programme that is regularly repeated across whole year groups in many schools. It has been used with Years 7, 8 and 9 and particularly Year 10 students.

It is used to meet a range of enterprising needs across the curriculum.

Teambuilding and raising selft-esteem are central to the CASE process.

Students create their own mini enterprise, forming their own business and take responsibility for all aspects:

  • Planning and researching
  • Borrowing money and buying materials
  • Making, marketing and advertising their product or service
  • Selling their product/service at a trade fair and raising money for charity

Debriefing, evaluation and celebrating the experience takes place at the end.
